Our Global Competition is back!

We are delighted to announce our Pen Buddies 2022 Global Competition! This year, we would like to have a Creative Writing competition for children aged 5 years old & above with the theme of 'Love'.

​

Be it a poem or a short story, we appreciate any piece of writing as long as it creatively demonstrates your understanding of 'Love'. The competition is open for submission from 31st May 2022 with no registration fee needed.

However, if you want to learn more about writing a poem or short story, feel free to book the relevant courses provided by professional teachers. All proceeds will go to support our Pen Buddies project.

Participation Criteria: 

​

  • The Pen Buddies global competition is open to children aged 5 years old & above

  • The entries should be submitted via email to Pen Buddies 2022 Creative Writing Competition  

  • The maximum length is 30 lines and should fit on one side of A4 paper 

  • When submitting the creative writing, add your name, age, country, and a paragraph about yourself 

  • The poem should be written in English 

  • All writing styles are welcome, and we encourage drawings and artwork to accompany your writing

  • By submitting your entry, you accept the Terms and Conditions below

Judging Criteria and Award Categories: 

Entries will be judged in these three age categories:  

  • 5-7-year-olds - “Little Gem award” 

  • 8-10-year-olds - “Orpheus award” 

  • 11 year-olds & above - “Apollo award”  

 

Competition Timeline: 

  • Entry Submission Starting Date:  31 May 2022  

  • Entry Submission Deadline:  31 October 2022  

  • Winners Announcement: December 2022 

  • Awards Ceremony:  February 2023

Prizes: 

There will be fantastic prizes in each age category, including a T-shirt with the winning pieces on it and a ticket to the 'House of iKons' fashion show in London! But most excitingly, all creative writings will be published in an anthology and all participants will receive a complimentary digital copy. 

  

Terms & Conditions: 

1. All submitted entries belong to the Wisdom (Zhihui) Foundation. 

2. Selected entries will be used for marketing and publicity purposes for the Wisdom (Zhihui) Foundation.  

3. Participants’ basic details including a personal photo will be used for marketing and publicity purposes. Please, notify us if you want to exclude yourself from the media exposure for personal privacy. 

4. Winners will be judged by the committee members from the Wisdom (Zhihui) Foundation and creative industry professionals. 

5. Competition result is final and non-debatable.
